Whether you're competing at a professional level or would simply like to maximise your performance, Sports Hypnosis might be for you!
You're very likely already investing time into being as physically fit as possible, improving your technique and strategy. You've also probably thought about the psychology behind - what is it that gives a winning athlete or a team that needed edge over the others? But how much time have you spent on making sure you have the right mindset, enhancing your performance even further?
The Sports Hypnosis sessions may help you:
-
stay focused during competitions, avoiding distractions
-
deal with negative thoughts and emotions
-
build confidence up after injury or poor past performance
-
increase motivation and dedication
-
define your goals more clearly and vividly
-
manage stress and anxiety
-
AND MORE...
During the sessions:
We will start with a consultation so we can get to know each other and explore what you would like to work on, defining your goals. This usually helps me identify what you are doing well already, and what might benefit from tweaking. I will also answer any questions you might have. If there is any time left I like to include a brief experiential component in the first session so you can get a feel for what hypnosis feels like for you. After discussing your aims I will suggest a plan for sessions which is flexible to allow for any changes that might occur between the sessions.
Subsequent sessions also start with a brief consultation, followed by more concrete interventions based on Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. Everything we do together will work much better if you are comfortable with the proposed plan. This is why it is important to actively participate in sessions and to inform me of your preferences.
Between the sessions:
To help you get where you want to be faster, we will develop an action plan for you between the sessions. This might involve keeping a simple log of your thoughts and emotions in particular situations, or listening to guided audio files I would provide.
The more involved you are in the process, including between the sessions, the faster you will see the results you desire, thus also lowering the number of sessions you require and the cost involved.
Sports Hypnosis can help you get to where you want to be in your sport, but you are also very likely to find that a lot of the skills you'll learn can be applied in other situations that require focus or relaxation skills in your personal or professional life.
